About Us

The Department of Psychology of Union Christian College, Aluva was established in 1965 asthe first independent department in Kerala offering an Under Graduate programme inPsychology by Dr. V. K. Alexander, the pioneering Clinical Psychologist in Kerala. The firstPost Graduate programme in Psychology under Mahatma Gandhi University was begun inthe department in 1999. The department regained its status as a research centre in its GoldenJubilee year in 2014. Since then, 10 PhDs have been awarded from the department. Atpresent the department is endowed with 144 students, 16 research scholars and 7 permanentfaculty members and 1 lab assistant.
