Internships
Postgraduate students are required to complete a two-month compulsory internship at recognized mental health centers under the supervision of qualified clinical psychologists. Undergraduate students undertake a two-week internship at mental health centers or the psychiatry departments of general hospitals, guided by trained psychologists. Students are placed for internships in recognized centers, including:
- Government Mental Health Centre, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode
- District Mental Health Centre, Ernakulam and Thrissur
- Kusumagiri Mental Health Centre, Kakkanad, Ernakulam
- S. H. Hospital, Paynkulam, Idukki
- Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur
- Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla
- Santhula Trust Hospital, Kochi
- Bishop Vayalil Medical Centre, Moolamattom
Apart from the above, internships are also being done at the following places:
- Private mental health clinics and counselling centers in Ernakulam and Thrissur
- Community-based Rehabilitation Centers
- Special Schools for Children with Developmental Disabilities
